I’m An Artiste!

Hiya, Cait here. I write about food, herbs, textiles, and homelife. Bedhead is the style of choice around these parts as basically every aspect of our life revolves around getting to bed time alive or wishing my three hooligans would sleep just a little longer. Thanks for reading!

A to do list. βœ…
I discovered this idea a few months ago: "Notebooking" for recording our projects, literature interpretations, spontaneous drawings, handwriting, and nature study in one place for the entire school year. So far it's been a really cool journaling experience to look back on their work and see how far they've come. We're deep in the November slump and so it often feels like I'm just cleaning up all day and nothing is really getting done. But this helps curb that feeling. We do SOMETHING every week and it's documented in the notebook. I want to do one for myself but so far the two year old makes that next to impossible to do consistently πŸ₯΄. Babies and toddlers have never been my favorite age 😬 dare I say. But I do thoroughly enjoy watching them grow and develop. #notebooking for the win! PS I have no idea what they were saying in the video πŸ˜‚ but it was so weird I kept it so you could hear too. Haha
We went on a walk this morning and this was the view around the bend behind our house 😍. Also, Pete was very concerned that I would get hit by a car and insisted that I get off the paved road and onto the gravel the entire way, as only a two year old can. I'm his girlfriend, you know πŸ’
More evidence of children.
Evidence of children.
What happens to lentils that soak and then don't get cooked... πŸ˜‚ Maybe I should start a lentil garden πŸ€”
P: Who dat, maamaaa?? Me: Wolverine! P: Whhhhhy? Me: Why's your name Peter? P: Idnooo. Eaaslflppebbajtheb
Slow progress. Shower pan! We hired that one out. And some thoughts about home-reno while I should be making dinner instead...I enjoy renovating my home, but I've hit a low point, a weird funk where my brain is befuddled and I can't remember which project I should be, let alone WANT to be, working on. I'm at the point where I would like to snap my fingers and have my closet floor magically put in so I don't have to feel the subfloor + grit on my bare feet right when I wake up and before I go to bed. We're at that halfway point where life is mostly back to normal but not really because there is still soo much to do, but nothing I can yet do about it. And this is life, really. It just goes on. A few awesome weeks here, a few crummy weeks there. A REALLY TERRIBLE YEAR here, an amazingly productive awesome year there. Home Reno is exactly like life. Mostly good overall...on a really bumpy road.
A finally functional studio space πŸ€©πŸ˜πŸŽ‰ I am a lucky lady!
